This is my cat Grr…

I thought this was pretty cool… Slashgamer.com featured my Fire Cowboy animation on thier front page this past weekend. Check the article out here. If you like video games it is also a nice site for a more avant-garde approach to game news.

I designed these for my car.  I think I am going to try and make them this weekend. It is the Dharma Logo, the Weighted Companion Cube and the Meat icon from the 1st Zelda on NES.

This was one of the first ideas a friend and I came up with in school. It was low-level dumb humor, but to this day I still think it is hilarious. I might make a web-comic out of this, as I am still throwing around ideas for a regular strip. However, I might just do a slew of ideas and see which ones stick and not limit any possibilities.

A great, although very wet, three-day weekend just ended. On my drive home from the Clearwater area I got stuck in a monster storm that ended up making my drive about an hour longer than it should have been. The rain was blinding and I eventually became stuck on a 2 lane country road due to a massive tree falling across. The detour I had to take was actually pretty interesting and picturesque, if it had not been storming as badly. I will have to go back and take some photos some day. Here are some photos I took in my car on the way home after it cleared up a bit.

I met a great cat outside one day, and he came around every so often to say hello and hang out with me on the porch, I named him Riff-Raff. He would come when I called him from across the parking lot, and would stay for hours. Sometime after, he developed an extremely bad skin disorder and started losing hair eventually his eyes were swollen shut from the affliction. He looked like a giant rat with the plague. Tonight we finally had to call pet services to come pick him up. I tricked him into an old toaster oven box with food and water, where he sat on my porch in the raining darkness until they came. I hope his suffering ends soon.

This past Saturday I went to the Muddy Buddy Race, a 7 mile run/bike race with a few obstacles shoved in between. It was a lot of fun, and I felt like I was going to die by the end of it. After coming home, it took me an hour to get all the mud out of my ears.  The other guy in the pictures is my boss, photos by Jason Miller.

I thought I would share this information with anyone delving deep into google as they possibly can to find answers to the headache that is the GD-JPEG error that seems to plague a lot of you out there.  

This morning I signed into my wordpress to upload some photos from the past weekend. When I attempted to upload my photos, I got a 1st time error of something like “GD-JPEG blah blah ERROR IMAGES.PHP LINE 147″ It seemed all my new photos were getting that same error.

After searching Google and finding countless posts about this error, they allseemed to have no answer at all, just speculation. And just before I started going mad with frustration and anger, I figured my problem out. Now, I have some more speculation for you:

After trying everything along with reverting to older css, deactivating plug-ins, and so on.. I noticed that in photoshop I had my web-optimize set on jpeg “progressive”. I never usually use this option and must have accidentally turned it on.  After re-saving my new photos without progressive checked, they all uploaded beautifully and the problem has been solved thus far.

Now if anyone could clue me into WHY this happened or How to get the word-press up-loader to accept and re-size progressive jpg files, please inform me.
