Squirm is the son of Emperor Barnaby. He lives with his father in Castle Barnaby. Squirm is 5 years old but has yet to show any signs of speech, which troubles his father immensely. Barnaby hopes to one day leave Squirm his kingdom and the rule over Grossland (that is if he ever actually conquers it).  Barnaby has consulted countless doctors and wizards to assist the mystery of Squirms odd behavior and lack of speech, but unfortunately none have been able to explain it. When not with his father, Squirm enjoys exploring the forest that surrounds the castle. One of Squirm’s favorite activities is to play with the local creatures called the Dimples. Squirm happened upon the Dimples one day while exploring near the Dimples home. While looking at some flowers a Dukabeast decided it would like to make Squirm its main course for dinner. Before the Dukabeast could succeed two small Dimples by the name of Crowdy and Moto came to his rescue. After that, Squirm has found an enjoyable time playing with the Dimples when he can. And the Dimples don’t mind since Squirm can’t tell anyone about thier secrets.
