The Incubus Totem acts as a gateway to the unknown. Once an object passes through the totem, it dematerializes and relocates itself to a random location. There is no way to track or pin point the totem’s location, so the users are usually creatures who happen onto it by accident. However, there are groups of adventurers who are always in search of the Incubus Totem, obsessed to experience where it could take them and what they would find on the other side.

The Incubus Totem is actually an organic creature. It lives and breathes, although it is unknown as to how old it is or if it can be killed. To open the gateway of the totem, one must wake up the creature and gaze into it’s center eye. Upon awakening the Totem communicates telepathically with the traveler and offers a passage in exchange for it’s memories. It is thought that the Totem chooses it’s next location from the memories of the last traveler. It is also thought that the Totem would be easier to find if you could talk with the last creature who passed through it, but they are usually never heard from again.
